Company Information

BRETMAR TRANSMISSION COMPANY LIMITED was established in 1978 to import and wholesale power transmission products and industrial equipment. German manufactured PETER-BTR V-belts were imported in February 1979 and sold to major NZ manufacturers throughout the Southern Auckland region. PETER-BTR was taken over in 1995 by POWER TRANSMISSIONS STRONG-BELT GMBH of Germany resulting in the complete range of classical and high-capacity v-belts being stocked at our Papakura warehouse. Timing Belt, Poly-Vee and Variable Speed Belts were added progressively on demand.

Roller Chain became the next major requirement. We finally selected EK brand roller chain from the ENUMA CHAIN COMPANY of Japan and it proved very popular with our customers. The competitive price, high quality and comprehensive range offered by Enuma remains the same today.

Other chains purchased from Europe, Asia and the USA include WIPPERMANN, FREDRICKSON, EWART, PEER, DIAMOND, MCC, PULTON and SUGIYAMA. We can offer conveyor chain, agricultural chain, leaf chain and many types of slat band chain. We also stock connecting links, offset links and anchor pins

To compliment chain sales ZETASASSI Chain Tensioners from Italy, Chain Couplings, B.S. & A.S.A. Sprockets and Chain Lubricators complete our full range.

During the last fifteen years the demand for Ball, Roller and Tapered Roller Bearings has grown to such a high level that all major brands are sourced regularly from overseas. While NACHI is stocked as a sub-agency the following brands are stocked depending on the required type of bearing demanded by our customer:
